Nail salon owner guide
Why Your Nail Salon Is Not Showing on Google Maps
First check whether the salon is missing entirely or simply does not appear for a broad search such as “nail salon near me.” Those situations need different fixes. Record the exact search, location and date before changing anything.

Identify which problem you have
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| No result for the exact business name and address | Confirm the correct profile, business details and any verification or restriction notice in the owner account. |
| The salon appears by name, but not for broader services | Review relevance, proximity to the searcher and local prominence; do not assume the profile is broken. |
| Google shows an old location or duplicate listing | Record the URLs and ownership situation before requesting corrections. Do not create another profile as a shortcut. |
| The Maps listing exists but the website is hard to find | Review the website separately, including index status and the page linked from the profile. |
Check the facts guests rely on
Compare the public name, address, phone, website and hours against what the salon actually uses. Check regular hours and any exceptional closing dates. Review whether the selected categories and described services accurately reflect the business. Keep the real business name; adding a list of search keywords to the name is not a substitute for relevant information.
Open the website from the listing on a phone. A broken link, wrong location or unavailable booking page can cost an enquiry even when the profile is visible.
Make your visibility check repeatable
Use a simple record with these columns: date, search phrase, observation location, device, Maps or web results, profile URL and observation. Repeat the same useful checks over time. A result from one side of a city cannot represent every nearby customer.
Google describes local ranking through relevance, distance and prominence. Improving information can help relevance; it does not move the physical salon closer to every searcher. Ads are a separate placement and do not buy higher organic Maps positions.
Choose the next action
If the owner account shows a restriction or verification issue, resolve that specific notice through the official process. If details are inaccurate, correct them with evidence. If the profile works but visibility is limited, review the service pages, local information and honest review process together.
Then measure useful actions—relevant calls, directions and enquiries—and check with the salon whether they became appointments. Avoid treating a position screenshot as the complete business result.
Questions before you begin
Should I create a second profile?
Do not create duplicates just to escape a visibility problem. First establish which profile represents the real business and what the existing issue is.
Can an agency guarantee first place?
No agency controls every searcher’s location or Google’s ranking. Ask for a defined scope and repeatable reporting instead.
